A pair of blue socks arrived in the mail. They were sent from a dear friend that knew the battleground my divorce had become. The image of a windblown umbrella and a girl desperately trying to hold on was stitched on the side. It included a colorful phrase that describes the situation.
She suggested I wear these socks on the days I needed to be in court or when things were especially challenging. She had the same pair and wore hers in support or my journey. They served as a reminder to keep my feet on the ground, that the divorce was temporary and that this storm would pass. Those socks provided a source of strength and hope. Their importance was significant enough to share with others.
Each seminar attendee receives their own pair of blue socks. A reminder for them, that they are not alone in their struggle and to keep their feet on the ground and their head held high.
This seminar does NOT provide legal advice. It only provides a legal overview of the basics of the divorce proceedings. Legal questions should be addressed to an attorney in your area. We will discuss options for selecting an attorney and resources for those forced to represent themselves.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted, checked in and given your seminar materials, including your blue socks.
The seminar material is presented in a lecture style with opportunities to share, if you choose to. Although very serious subjects will be addressed, our goal is to keep the tone positive and focused on proactive ways to move through the divorce process. Our goal is to have you leave feeling supported, grounded and in a place to make good choices.
